So I’ve decided to start reflecting back on my week each Friday (including some photos that didn’t make it to Instagram & a few from there as not all of my readers here have Instagram!). Welcome to the first…
That top photo made it to the top because I love that photo. M travels sometimes for work and when he does, I rarely spend time cooking for myself. I like to enjoy food with people and when I am not with people, I just gather whatever I have around, maybe with a couple of simply cooked fresh veg, and I eat like that. Have you seen Eat Pray Love? The scene where Elizabeth sits on the floor with I think it was an egg and some asparagus? That’s how I eat when I am alone. So I guess I love the photo as these super-simple arrangements are how I eat when I am solo.
And that is not a bloody mary as a lovely friend suggested – it’s watermelon & mint juice!
M’s birthday was last weekend. We had a very quiet one as he has been under the weather but his sister made a delicious carrot & walnut cake (with a creamy lime infused icing) as a birthday cake. I posted a pretty picture on Instagram but I took this one afterwards – this is often what happens after I photograph something. I’ve been looking at it so long I can’t even leave my home office to eat it and I’ll just pick it up with the matt/base I was photographing it on and dig in….
That black corner is my legging-clad leg!
This photo has annoyed me all week. I can’t explain why.
This is my desk at the moment (on a non-photographing breakfast morning). I get on my laptop every morning before work to read blogs, post on my Facebook page, read the news etc and what’s lying next to it is ever changing. At the moment it’s an elephant Dad gave me years ago, a paella pan, a bedroom scene picture I love the colours of (we’ve just bought a king bed so I’m taking the opportunity to make more changes to the bedroom), scribbles from chats on the phone and the paint brush I used to paint some floorboards I made into a background for my photos…
(I’ll post this recipe under 15 minute meals here soon as it was delish/super healthy/paleo/grain free/gluten free/everything free except fish free – for now it’s on Insta).
A new person suggested this week that I have photos of myself in on my Instagram looking all fit to help attract more people. Sometimes it gets in my head and I’m dressed to work out and I think ‘Yeah, OK, I can be Kayla Itsines, for sure’… and then I have way too many photos of me half flexing but trying to look casual while accidentally (and repeatedly) pulling a stupid face, then I choose to show you this one…
I’ll stick to food.
And then there’s these guys. One hasn’t been very well and I would give the world to make him better.
And finally, although it’s a terrible photo as I took it at night from my bed zoomed in, I finally captured it and had to show you.
Sometimes Buckley just stands for 5 or 10 minutes and stares at himself in the mirror.. it makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.. he always looks so serious!
Hahaha.. animals are the best!
Now that I am doing this, I’ll be trying to take more interesting photos during the week.
For now, have a lovely weekend,
